We operate a modern six meter trailerable boat to provide
access to the best fishing lakes in the North Island.
The Rotorua area has more than twelve easily accessible lakes.
The most isolated being about 45 mins' drive from the centre
of town. Lake Rotorua, in the central city, provides excellent
Rotorua trout fishing. If, however, you are staying with us
our own lake fishes superbly, is open all year round and accessed
off the front lawn.
These
lakes carry a mix of both wild and hatchery fish and are acknowledged
as some of the finest trophy lakes in the world. Although
Browns are present in some waters, Rainbows are by far the
dominant species. You can expect to catch fish ranging from
3lb to 8lb with 10lb fish not uncommon.
HALF
DAY
(4 hours with a fish guarantee)
We recommend Lake Rotorua, which holds large numbers of fish
averaging around 3lbs.
If
you do not catch a fish in four hours we will provide additional
time free until you catch one. We would however, expect you
to catch several fish.
Coffee,
Tea and Muffins are served on board.
FULL
DAY
Morning fishing on Lake Rotorua or Lake Rotoehu if staying
with us, then a picturesque drive to the magnificent and isolated
Lake Okataina where you will have
a superb on board lunch in a secluded bay and fish for the
remainder of the day. Lake Okataina is renowned for it's trophy
fish although they are somewhat more difficult to catch.
The
minimum size trout that may be kept on this lake is 58 centimeters
or around 23 inches. A true testament to their size.

FULL DAY
Early departure from your accommodation for the township of
Kinloch situated on the northern shores of Lake Taupo where
we launch the boat and cruise to the remote Western Bays.
Here we can either troll lures, jig or fly-fish one of the
many river mouths. Whatever your choice of fishing, this is
a delightful day and we can even barbeque a trout for you
on one of the secluded beaches. Your choice of lunch on board
or on the beach.

TWO DAY PACKAGE
Depart
Rotorua day one and travel to Lake Waikaremoana, the jewel
of the North Island and one of the country's most remote lakes.
The three and a half hour trip will take you through some
of New Zealand's' most stunning scenery. We travel through
the magnificent Te Urewera Forest Park, steeped in Maori history
and with its almost endless stands of untouched ancient native
trees.
The afternoon will be spent fishing Lake Waikaremoana before
retiring to our Lakeside cabins for pre dinner drinks followed
by a superb meal with New Zealand wines.
After
breakfast on day two we will return to the lake for more fishing
and an on board lunch with a late afternoon return to Rotorua.
